As of January 1, 2013, Claudia-Melania Chituc is an Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Eindhoven (TU/e).
She holds a PhD (July 2008) and a MSc (June 2004) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (Portugal), and two licentiate diplomas from two different faculties she pursued simultaneously, being a Computer Engineer (graduated the Faculty of Computers and Automation, Politehnica University of Bucharest, Romania, in June 2002, specialization: Computers Engineering) and Economist, specialized in Finances, Insurances, Banking and Stock Exchange (graduated the Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest, Romania, in September 2000). Prior to joining the Information Systems Capacity Group at TU/e, Claudia-Melania was an Assistant Professor at the Informatics Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto, where she was also the coordinator (PI) for the University of Porto (during 2011 and 2012) of the of the ENSURE FP7 project (Project leader: IBM Israel), leader/co-leader of 3 WorkPackages, and she was involved in the preparation of the ENSURE project proposal since fall 2009. During 2005, Claudia-Melania was a visiting scholar at Purdue University, School of Industrial Engineering and PRISM Center (USA). She chaired and organized several workshops and special sessions at international conferences (e.g., Performance Assessment and Auditing in Service Computing International Workshops: PAASC 2010 and PAASC 2012 Workshops held at the International Conference on Service Oriented Computing: ICSOC 2010 and ICSOC 2012 respectively). She is pursuing inter-disciplinary research in the areas of computers engineering, economics and mathematics. Main areas of research: SOA, service computing and cloud computing, (economic) performance assessment, interoperability, business process management, requirements engineering.
