Information Systems HEalthcAre Reading Team

The healthcare reading team consists of a group of researchers from the IS Healthcare Cluster that meet every two weeks with a group of interested students to discuss a promising research paper (or, since recently: work in progress of a student in the group). Our mission is to read more efficiently and to learn from each other.

Students that want to be notified about our activities, or anyone who wishes to propose an article, can subscribe to the IS-HEART students mailing list.

The original format was as follows (suggestions for improvement are always welcome):

  • One paper (or book chapter) per session,
  • Each attendee reads the paper in advance,
  • For each paper, we send in advance a goal (to prepare a focussed
discussion and to provide a basis for collaborations),
  • For each paper, one registered attendee prepares a short summary
    (optionally supported by slides).

Since November 2012, we encourage students to give a short presentation about their ongoing work.  This can be related to a literature study, a research proposal or anything else related to a master thesis or bachelor project.  We do encourage students to send some reading material to the IS-HEART members in advance, such that we can have a well informed discussion.

Practical Information

We meet every first and third week of the month, on fridays, during lunch time (12:30-13:30). The default meeting room is K16.  For details, please consult our online agenda of the health cluster.
