I work as an associate professor of Information Systems at Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands, in the School of Industrial Engineering, in the group of Information Systems.


I do research and teach on the modeling and design of smart, data-driven business processes. Application domains are among others Smart Industry and Smart Mobility. This research is embedded in the Business Process Management and Smart Mobility clusters of the IS group. I lead the Smart Mobility cluster within the Information Systems groep.


I received a PhD in Computer Science in 2002 from the University of Twente. Before, I received an MSc in Computer Science (1998), with distinction, also from the University of Twente. In 2002/2003, I was a visiting PostDoc at CRP Henri Tudor and LIASIT, Luxembourg. In 2012, I was a visiting scholar at IBM Watson Research Center.
